Two men charged in West Philadelphia shooting

Police apprehended two men - one armed with a MAC-10 machine pistol and another with a .38-caliber revolver - after a man in his 20s was critically wounded last night in West Philadelphia.

Lt. John Walker of Southwest Detectives said the two men were captured after fleeing from the scene, 57th and Commerce Streets, after a man was shot about 8:45 p.m. The victim was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in critical condition with wounds to his back and one of his arms, Walker said.
