Woman impaled on fence as she tries to climb it
Firefighters and medics rushed early yesterday to rescue a woman who impaled herself as she tried to climb over a fence surrounding a pool in the Northeast, authorities said.
Rescuers were called about 3 a.m. to the Korman Suites apartments at 2650 Welsh Rd., where they removed the 27-year-old woman from the wrought-iron fence, said Executive Fire Chief Daniel Williams.
The victim, who was not identified, was with her boyfriend, who assisted her until medics arrived. She was taken to Frankford Hospital-Torresdale Campus with injuries that did not appear life-threatening, authorities said.
