2 held for trial in murder, dismemberment case

A Chester County judge ruled Friday that there was enough evidence to hold two men for trial in the murder and dismemberment of 16-year-old Aaron L. Turner of Coatesville.

A Chester County judge ruled Friday that there was enough evidence to hold two men for trial in the murder and dismemberment of 16-year-old Aaron L. Turner of Coatesville.

LaQuanta Chapman, 29, a neighbor of Turner's, and Bryan Byrd, 19, of Newark, N.J., were held without bail after a preliminary hearing. They are charged with murder, aggravated assault, hindering prosecution, and related counts.

First Assistant District Attorney Patrick Carmody said the two had killed Turner in the basement of Chapman's home in a drug-related murder, then used a chain saw to cut up the body and dispose of it "like trash." - Mari A. Schaefer
