A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit against the Philadelphia Housing Authority by its former assistant general manager, who claimed he was wrongly fired after complaining about waste and fraud.

U.S. District Judge Michael M. Baylson ruled Thursday that John Tatum failed to show a clear link between his 2009 termination and his previous complaints about PHA employees' alleged theft of building materials from the agency.

PHA's attorney, Jeffrey M. Kolansky, applauded the ruling, saying Tatum's suit "didn't have the facts to support the allegation." Tatum's lawyer, Michael Pileggi, said he would revise the lawsuit and refile it. - Mark Fazlollah
