Women's College Basketball: Delle Donne lifts Delaware over Wake Forest

Elena Delle Donne, the nation's leading scorer, had 30 points and 13 rebounds to lead No. 22 Delaware to a 70-57 win over Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, N.C., on Sunday.

Delle Donne, who averages 29 points per game, helped the Blue Hens (8-0) claim their first win over an Atlantic Coast Conference team and extend the best start in school history.

Delaware held Wake Forest without a field goal for 111/2 minutes during the decisive 19-3 run. Delle Donne's jumper with just over 11 minutes left made it 48-46 and put the Blue Hens ahead to stay. Jocelyn Bailey capped it with a free throw that put Delaware up 65-49 with 3 minutes, 8 seconds to play.

Penn State 76, Maryland-Eastern Shore 51 - Maggie Lucas scored 20 points for the No. 17 Nittany Lions (8-2) in a win over the Hawks (2-5) in State College, Pa.

The Lions shot 47 percent (27 of 58) from the field.

Central Michigan 75, No. 12 Purdue 62 - Brandie Baker scored all 16 of her points in the second half as the Chippewas (3-5) upended the No. 12 Boilermakers (7-3) in Mount Pleasant, Mich.

Baylor 73, St. John's 59 - Brittney Griner had 17 points and 13 rebounds to help the top-ranked Bears (10-0) beat the Red Storm (5-5) in the Maggie Dixon Classic at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Tennessee 84, DePaul 61 - Glory Johnson scored 16 points and Cierra Burdick added 15 to lead the No. 7 Volunteers (5-2) over the No. 20 Blue Demons (8-2) in the Maggie Dixon Classic.
