Corey Majors, a rugged inside linebacker for Neshaminy, has committed to Villanova.

The 6-foot-1, 225-pound senior, who doubles as a fullback, also had scholarship offers from Pittsburgh, Temple, and Minnesota. Rutgers was in the mix as well.

"I like that it's local," Majors said. "When talking with the Villanova coaches, it was easy and comfortable."

Last season, while helping the Redskins to a 9-3 record, Majors earned second-team all-Suburban One League National Conference honors on defense.

"He's a big, physical kid," said Neil French, Neshaminy's defensive coordinator. "He can also go out and cover people in space."
