Bryzgalov to start for Flyers against Devils

In a somewhat surprising decision, Flyers coach Peter Laviolette is giving Ilya Bryzgalov the start Thursday night over the sizzling Steve Mason.

"Both of our goaltenders have played really well lately, I think," Laviolette said when asked if it was a difficult decision to bypass Mason.

The Flyers host sagging New Jersey at 7:30 p.m.

In four games (three starts) with the Flyers, Mason has a 1.82 goals-against average and .941 save percentage.

New Jersey has lost 10 straight, going 0-6-4 in that span.
