When the Flyers host Tampa Bay on Tuesday night, they are hoping goalie Ilya Bryzglaov makes a major difference.

"Right now, he's our best player," center Claude Giroux said after Tuesday's morning skate in Voorhees.

When the teams met on Jan. 27, backup Michael Leighton looked rusty as the Flyers fell to host Tampa Bay, 5-1.

Bryzgalov is 3-5 with a 2.40 goals-against average and .920 save percentage. He will be facing a Tampa team that leads the NHL in goals per game (4.9) and power-play percentage (36.1).

"He's remained constant with his performance," coach Peter Laviolette said.

"If he keeps playing this way, we'll be a very dangerous team," forward Danny Briere said.

Giroux on defenseman Kurtis Foster, whom the Flyers signed just before the season: "He brings kind of a super weapon on the power play. He's got a pretty big shot, and I'm sure Tampa is aware of it. He played there and was on their first unit. He's a good player all around."

Foster had his best NHL season while playing fror Tampa in 2009-10, collecting eight goals and 34 assists in 71 games. He scored a power-play goal in the Flyers' 5-3 win over Carolina on Saturday.

"The last couple games have been Kurtis' best," Laviolette said. "He's been assertive in the game in his overall play."

Said Foster: "I'm getting used to who I'm playing with and who I'm going to be playing against, and getting comfortable with the system. I think when I start getting some pucks that go in _ like last game _ the guys start giving me the puck more. I felt early I wasn't getting as many opportunities to shoot the puck, but the last few games, guys have been finding me."

The Flyers (3-6) worked on their power play during their 10:30 a.m. practice. Laviolette said he held it in Voorhees to give the team "a little bit more privacy."

In other words, it would take more of an effort for Lightning coaches/scouts to get to Voorhees. Tampa Bay (6-2) practiced Tuesday morning at the WFC at 11:30.

Laviolette juggled his third and fourth lines. Here is how the lineup figures to look Tuesday night:

* Giroux centering Tye McGinn and Briere.

* Sean Couturier centering Matt Read and Mike Knuble.

* Brayden Schenn centering Jake Voracek and Zac Rinaldo.

* Max Talbot centering Ruslan Fedotenko and Tom Sestito.

D pairings: Kimmo Timonen-Luke Schenn; Braydon Coburn-Bruno Gervais; Nick Grossmann-Foster.

G Bryzgalov.

The Flyers on Tuesday are playing their second of a four-game homestand. With a sweep, they would be back at .500.

Tampa is 7-1-1 in its last nine games against the Flyers.

"You try not to think about that," Briere said. "I think one of the big keys tonight is staying out of the penalty box. They have a very dangerous power play."
