Christopher Dock set a program record for wins in a season while capturing its second consecutive PIAA district softball title, as the top-seeded Pioneers trounced No. 2 seed Springfield (Montco), 13-1, on Thursday in the District 1 Class AA championship at Upper Dublin.

Christopher Dock, which won the District 1 Class A crown last season, improved to 19-4.

Keli Krause lost her shutout bid in the fifth inning, but the junior righthander scattered four hits and fanned six batters to boost her career total to 405 strikeouts.

Krause also contributed a single, a double, and one RBI in a 16-hit attack while her battery mate, junior catcher Holly Seiz, tripled twice in batting 4 for 4 with four runs scored and five RBIs.

Rachel Ryder, Aly Shilling, and Megan Bolton combined for seven hits, five runs, and five RBIs for the Pioneers.

District 1 Class A. Top-seeded Bristol captured its fourth championship over the last five seasons by slipping past No. 2 seed Delco Christian, 3-1, in the title game at William Tennent.

The Warriors (20-3) jumped on top in the first inning, opening the scoring on an error. Brooke Dugger followed with an RBI double and Ashley Cantiello's single made it 3-0.

Senior righthander Kiersten Cain made the lead stand up by striking out 14 and limiting the Knights to two hits and one walk.

District 1 Class AAA. Pope John Paul II, the tournament's lowest seed at No. 10, completed its improbable run to the school's first district title by doubling up eighth-seeded Pottsgrove, 12-6, at Spring-Ford.

Patsy Murphy batted 4 for 4 and drove in a pair of runs, and Meg Kugler went 2 for 4 with three RBIs for the Golden Panthers.

District 1 Class AAAA. Neshaminy nailed down third place with a 2-0 triumph over No. 14 seed Spring-Ford in a state seeding game played at Wissahickon.

In the district fifth-place game at Norristown, Liz Parkins struck out a dozen batters in tossing a four-hit shutout and Taylor Schwartz scored both of Souderton's runs and the sixth-seeded Indians edged No. 5 seed Owen J. Roberts, 2-0.
