Pa. Girls: Lofton's trey lifts C.B. South by Notre Dame

Lofton, a sophomore forward, scored 11 of her team-high 14 points in the first half and Kate McMenamin finished with 12 points for the Titans (7-1).

Notre Dame's (5-3) Molly Borgese and Kathleen Fitzpatrick scored 15 points apiece.

Also at Spring-Ford, Cheltenham improved to 7-0 with a 41-36 triumph over Hempfield, in which Christina Coleman collected 13 points and 14 boards, and Ciara Andrews made 7 of 8 fourth-quarter foul shots.

Conestoga got points from 11 players, including Taylor Kenan's 12 points on four three-pointers, en route to a 51-34 win over Agnes Irwin.

Allison Shaw grabbed 10 rebounds, Brittany Sicinski dropped in 13 points and Downingtown West topped Daniel Boone, 41-35.

Marple Newtown Tournament. Host Marple Newtown captured the tournament trophy for the third straight year by holding off Bishop Shanahan, 42-38. Melissa Levy, the MVP, matched 12 points with 12 rebounds and blocked four shots, while Carley Hamilton blocked eight shots.

Behind a trio of high scorers, Academy Park easily turned away Octorara, 59-31, in the consolation game. Jordan Matthews did the heavy lifting with 23 points and was aided by Megan Donegan's 16 points and Brianna Macauley with 15 points.

Fort Myers (Fla.) Tournament. Archbishop Ryan (3-1) handed Lincoln Park (Fla.) its first loss in 14 games this season, 60-48. Megan Wolf piled up 20 points, six rebounds and five steals, and Melissa Rizzo chipped in with 13 points and seven boards.

West Chester Classic. Villa Maria took the top prize in the eight-team event at West Chester University, capped by a 45-31 triumph over Freire Charter. Kristen Walheim was the tournament MVP, and Kelly Anthony and Kellie O'Rourke had five points each in a 16-0 second-quarter run.

Shipley placed third in the eight-team competition by beating Central, 67-41. Nia Holland saved 12 of her 15 points for a 44-24 second half.

Melanie Kempf's rebound and putback shot at the buzzer lifted Oxford to a 27-26 seventh-place win over Pottsgrove.

Unionville Tournament. Haverford High beat the host Indians, 50-45, for the title behind Alison Lewis' 15 points and Corrinne Blue's six rebounds.

George W. Snear Tournament. Alex Louin (21) and Bridget Higgins (11) scored seven points each in a 26-8 second quarter that sent Mount St. Joseph past Plymouth Whitemarsh, 69-40, in the semifinals at Conshohocken's Fellowship House.

Upper Dublin Tournament. The host Cardinals beat Villa Joseph Marie for the title for the second straight year, 44-33. Tournament MVP Jen Myers scored 12 points, and Curtrene Goff had 16.

Disney World Classic. Christina O'Shea grabbed eight rebounds and poured in a game-high 12 points as Merion Mercy knocked off Nease (Fla.), 47-32, in the consolation round at Orlando. Julianne D'Orazio's guard play triggered four assists and five steals.

Boardwalk Classic. India Lucas knocked down four three's and Imhotep Charter slipped past Millville, 44-42, in the final of the Big Al Bracket at Wildwood. Lucas finished with a game-high 16 points and was aided by Destiny Russell's 12.

Erin Fenningham recorded four steals and four assists to highlight a balanced St. Basil effort as the Panthers downed Wildwood Catholic, 52-33, in the consolation game.

Kahleah Copper knocked down 13 free throws, grabbed seven rebounds and finished with a game-high 26 points as Prep Charter inched past Berks Catholic, 71-70, in the consolation of the Tom Williams Bracket. Ciana Cryor recorded eight steals and six assists.

North Penn missed a three-pointer at the buzzer and Neumann-Goretti escaped with a 31-29 win in the Boardwalk Cup Bracket. Omawumi Rafiu grabbed 21 rebounds to lead the way for the Saints. Lauren Crisler scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds for North Penn.

Diamond State Classic. Emily Grundman finished with 21 points and grabbed six rebounds as Council Rock North cruised past Sanford (Del.) in the consolation in Wilmington. Alyssa Dumont chipped in with 10 rebounds and four assists.

Pickerington Tournament. Alyssa Monaghan dished out seven assists and Shanice Johnson cleaned the glass with seven rebounds as Cardinal O'Hara downed Morgan Park (Ill.), 40-35, in the consolation in Ohio. Maureen Leahy contributed a game-high 14 points.

State College Tournament. Bridget Scott's 17 points helped Strath Haven trip Kittanning, 42-35.

Lower Moreland Rotary Tournament. Calypso Carty hit two three's en route to a game-high 14 points as Central Bucks West rolled past Lower Moreland, 52-18, in the championship game.

Westminster (Fla.) Tournament. Archbishop Prendergast will play for third place on Friday after beating North Broward Prep (Fla.), 64-48. Rosie O'Halloran (18) and Brooke Lachette (11) had six rebounds apiece.
