Pete DeWitt topped Prep's Griffin Mulvey-Hudson at second singles, 6-1, 6-1. At third singles, La Salle's R.J. Napolitano downed Luke Schlegel, 6-0, 6-0. The Explorers received their third win as Mike O'Connor teamed with John Neufeld at first doubles to top Jack Roccato and Andrew Rivers, 6-0, 6-0.
New England Invitational. Freshman Benjamin Lieb captured the third singles title and Haverford School finished second among 16 teams at Sunday's tournament in Owings, Md.
Lacrosse
Calvin Hopkins scored with 3 minutes, 37 seconds left in regulation to keep Pennsbury undefeated in Suburban One League National Conference play, as the Falcons topped visiting Abington, 8-7.
With the win, Pennsbury (13-1 overall, 8-0 division) clinched at least a share of the conference title. Drew Sweetland secured the victory with 22 saves, and Luke Matthews scored three times.
Pioneer. Zach Monzo scored his 100th career goal, and host Spring-Ford downed Methacton, 10-4. The senior attackman finished with five goals. Paul Major also scored five times.
Tri-County. John Hoffman scored his third goal with 8 minutes left to give Kimberton Waldorf a two-goal lead en route to a 7-6 win at Del-Val Friends. Senior attack Jaz Katz scored three goals and had four assists.
Inter-Ac. Reid Weber scored four times and Jake Adoni recorded 14 saves as host Germantown Academy edged Penn Charter, 7-6. Bill Oppenheimer added two assists.
Friends. Sophomore Brett Heffelfinger recorded 15 saves to help George School top visiting Friends' Central, 8-6.
Baseball
Matt Greskoff tripled to tie the game in the seventh and then scored the winning run on an error as host Malvern Prep downed Chestnut Hill, 7-6, in an Inter-Ac League game. Greskoff finished with two runs scored and a stolen base, and Nick Bateman was 2 for 3 with a triple and a run scored.
Catholic. Dan Furman hit a three-run double in the third, and visiting Monsignor Bonner topped Cardinal O'Hara, 8-6.
Joe Santospago finished 3 for 3 with three RBIs and a home run as Archbishop Wood posted a 8-4 win over visiting Archbishop Ryan. Rich Rosenbaum added three RBIs, two runs scored, and a home run.
Public. George Quinones stroked a double and scored a run as Mariana Bracetti edged visiting Overbrook, 3-2. The Bulldogs scored three times in the first inning.
Bicentennial. John LaPrise went 2 for 4 and scored twice as Devon Prep blanked host New Hope-Solebury, 5-0. The University of Virginia-bound senior hit a solo homer.
Ryan Blough's three-run homer in the third helped Christopher Dock down visiting Holy Ghost Prep, 8-5. Drew Hautzinger and Mike Melendez added a pair of hits.
Nonleague. Matthew Crockett drove two runs with a one-out single in the bottom of the seventh inning, and host Christian Academy walked off with a 9-8 win over Gloucester Christian. Crockett finished with four RBIs.
