The state baseball playoffs begin Monday, with 15 area teams seeking to claim gold on June 17 at Penn State's Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

But before the players on the diamond take center stage, let's talk some football. Specifically, the top uncommitted recruits in the Class of 2017 from Southeastern Pennsylvania - and their college possibilities.

Here's our top-10 list, which is based on current abilities and potential to exceed at the next level.

1. D'Andre Swift, St. Joseph's Prep, RB. A dynamic and versatile playmaker, the 5-foot-10, 210-pounder is seriously considering scholarship offers from Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, and Penn State.

The front-runners to land Swift, who is ranked the No. 4 running back in the country by Scout.com, appear to be Georgia and Penn State. He was one of 93,000 spectators on hand at Sanford Stadium for Georgia's spring game.

2. Mark Webb, Archbishop Wood, WR. May was a big month for the rising wideout. The 6-2, 202-pounder picked up offers from Alabama, Georgia, and Iowa.

Like Swift, Webb received an invitation to the Opening Finals, a showcase event for the nation's top prospects that is scheduled for July 5-10 at Nike Headquarters in Beaverton, Ore.

Webb also has offers from Maryland, North Carolina, Penn State, Rutgers, Temple, and Virginia Tech, among others.

3. Desmond Holmes, Cardinal O'Hara, OL/DL. The 6-5, 305-pounder has shown toughness and good footwork. He has offers from Central Florida, Colorado State, Maryland, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, and Temple, among others.

4. Pat Bartlett, Council Rock North, OL. The 6-5, 295-pounder has offers from Florida Atlantic, Illinois, Monmouth, and Syracuse. Duke, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Penn State, and Rutgers are also in the mix.

5. Jeremy Jennings, Downingtown East, DB. The fleet cornerback placed third in the 100-meter dash at the PIAA Class 3A state track and field championships in 10.78 seconds.

Jennings, who also may help the Cougars on offense next season, has offers from Monmouth, Syracuse, Western Michigan, Temple, and Towson.

6. Jake Glavin, Malvern Prep, OL. The 6-3, 295-pound guard, a first-team all-Inter-Ac League pick last season, has offers from Air Force, Robert Morris, and St. Francis (Pa.).

Glavin is also hearing from Illinois, Iowa State, Kent State, Syracuse, Virginia, and Utah State, among others.

7. Dajone Averett, West Catholic, DB. The 6-3, 195-pounder, who has been timed at 7.97 seconds in the 55-meter hurdles, has offers from Army, Temple, and Villanova. He has a broad jump of 10 feet, 11 inches.

8. Kyle McCloskey, Germantown Academy, QB. The savvy 6-4 lefthander, also a solid performer on the hardwood, has offers from Buffalo, Bowling Green, Delaware, Lehigh, Penn, Princeton, and Villanova, among others.

9. J.D. Carroll, West Chester East, TE. Carroll has offers from Air Force, Bryant, Fordham, Lafayette, Stony Brook, and Youngstown State. The 6-5, 215-pounder visited Temple in April.
