After giving up the tying run in the top of the fifth inning Saturday, GCIT's Erynn Sobieski made amends in the bottom half.

Sobieski slugged a two-run home run to beat Eastern, 4-2, and advance GCIT to the final of the Triton Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament.

Sobieski played a big role against GCIT's first opponent in the tournament, when she tossed seven shutout innings with six strikeouts, no walks, and two hits in a 7-0 win against Camden Catholic.

Taylor Favinger went 3 for 3 with two runs and two RBIs for GCIT.

GCIT will play Clearview in the tournament final at 10 a.m. Sunday.

Clearview beat Paul VI, 8-5, in the semifinals behind Celia Voltaggio, who had a double and knocked in three runs.

Earlier in the day, Clearview beat host Triton, 11-2. Kate Woolam had a double and knocked in three runs and Allyson Pennypacker had a triple and two RBIs.

After losing to Clearview, Paul VI beat Triton, 9-3, in the losers' bracket. Brielle Pietrafesa had a double, a run, and two stolen bases for Paul VI.

Paul VI will play Sacred Heart in the losers' bracket final, which also will be played at 10 a.m. Sunday.

Samantha Caterina, McKayla Smith, and Lauren Dwyer doubled in Sacred Heart's 13-5 win against Eastern in the losers' bracket semifinals.

Olympic National. Timber Creek's Brianna Milillo hit a three-run, game-tying home run in the bottom of the seventh inning, and the Chargers took advantage of an error in the eighth to beat Seneca, 4-3.

Lacrosse

Rena Carabases netted four goals to lead Lenape to a 13-10 win at Haddonfield in a nonleague game.

Olivia Streilein added three goals for Lenape.

Haddonfield's Taylor Ng scored five times.

Olympic. Savannah Singer and Lauren Thomas each scored four goals to lead host Cherokee to a 14-10 win against Washington Township.
