S. Jersey Girls: Tues. S.J. girls: Gordon sets Mainland mark

Anna Gordon continued to rewrite the girls' lacrosse record book at Mainland with another sterling performance Tuesday. Gordon scored seven times, setting the school scoring record, as Mainland beat visiting Lower Cape May, 18-11, in a Cape-Atlantic League game.

Gordon's fourth goal, with 19 minutes, 18 seconds remaining, gave her the mark. The tally moved her past Coby Briglia, who had set the previous mark of 147 in 2009. Gordon finished the game with 151.

Gordon, a La Salle recruit, had already tied the school record for goals in a game with eight against Absegami earlier in the season.

Riley Dolan added six goals Tuesday.

Burlington Liberty. Rachel Ceplo and Nicole Martin each scored five goals, and host Delran defeated Maple Shade, 19-11. Mackenzie Groark added four goals.

Samantha Reader led Maple Shade with five goals, and Lizzy Kerr, who scored her 100th career goal Monday, added two.

Olympic American. Senior attack Aviana Paraggio scored four of her five goals in the first half, and Washington Township rallied to beat visiting Cherokee, 15-10. Paraggio assisted on two goals. McKayla Earley and Amanda Rey added three goals each.

Sierra Slack's four goals paced host Eastern past Lenape, 11-8. Austyn Cuneo and Alexa Rubino chipped in with two apiece.

Olympic Patriot. Megan Thompson scored three goals and assisted on four others to lift Cherry Hill East to a 19-9 win at Seneca. Caitlin Delaney, Emily Johnson, and Taylor Patrizi each scored four goals.

Softball

Haddon Heights beat visiting Kingsway, 4-1, in a nonleague game to give coach Mike Schlichtig his 100th career victory.

Catcher Mattie McCleery went 3 for 3 with two doubles and drove in two runs. She also caught two runners stealing. Shayla Sweeney struck out six and allowed one unearned run.

Tri-County Classic. Madison McClintock's big bat powered Gloucester to a 6-3 win at Pennsville. McClintock went 2 for 4 with a triple, three runs scored, and an RBI. Amanda Boulden and Rachel Clifton each had two hits and drove in a run.

Cape-Atlantic National. Rosie LaGrotta picked up her 14th victory as Sacred Heart won at Ocean City, 6-2. Junior centerfielder Gabby Castellini went 3 for 3 with a walk and a run scored.

Cape-Atlantic American. Behind the five-hit pitching of Logan MacIntosh, Oakcrest cruised to an 8-1 win at Absegami. Samantha Liepe had a hit, walked twice, and scored three runs.

Burlington Patriot. Cinnaminson scored three runs in the seventh to win at Delran, 9-8. Shannon Profy went 3 for 3.
