Ryan Shinn did not let Cherokee make much contact Monday. The Chiefs had an even harder time getting a hit against the Northern Burlington lefthander.
Shinn struck out 15 and threw his first no-hitter in Northern Burlington's 7-0 win in a Grand Slam Classic consolation game at Washington Lake Park.
He walked one and Northern Burlington made an error as Shinn faced only two batters over the minimum.
Mike Defilippis helped provide the offense with a two-run triple.

Colin McCallister scored twice and knocked in another two runs in host Washington Township's 9-5 win in the semifinals against Cinnaminson.
Dan Musilli had two doubles and drove in a pair of runs to help Williamstown win the other semifinal against Absegami, 11-4, at Washington Lake Park.
Williamstown will play at Washington Township in the Grand Slam Classic final on Saturday.
Tri-County Classic. Wildwood's Matt Bolle threw the school's first no-hitter since 2002 in a 5-0 home win against Salem in the second game of a doubleheader. Bolle struck out 11 and walked four.
In the first game, Wildwood picked up a 5-3 win behind Chris Mormile, who went 3 for 4 with a double and two runs scored.
Cape-Atlantic American. Andrew Gee knocked in two runs with a base hit in the third inning and Vineland held on for a 2-1 victory at Millville.
Nonleague. Matt Kohnke made it through five innings without allowing a hit in Bordentown's 10-1 home win against Florence. Kohnke gave up a base hit in the sixth inning and left the game, but finished with one hit, no runs and nine strikeouts.
Tommy Kleinhas earned the win with six strikeouts in seven innings and a pair of RBIs at the plate in GCIT's 4-1 triumph at Kingsway.
