S. Jersey Boys: Tues. S.J. boys: Kingsway holds off Clearview

Kingsway's Anthony Dilks settled in nicely after allowing a run in the first inning. It remained the only blemish on his pitching line until the sixth, when he gave up another run, but his damage was done and the Dragons won, 3-2, at Clearview in a Tri-County Conference Royal Division baseball game Tuesday afternoon.

Dilks threw a four-hitter, striking out 12. He also helped himself by going 2 for 3 with a double and driving in two runs in the second inning.

Anthony Esposito's fourth-inning solo home run proved to be the winning hit.

In Classic Division action, Bobby Girgeni went 3 for 5 with three RBIs as Gloucester raced past visiting Clayton, 21-2.

Colonial. Lucas Rollins scattered seven hits and fanned five to lead host Collingswood over Haddon Heights, 7-2. At the plate, Rollins went 2 for 3 with two doubles and knocked in two runs.

Cape-Atlantic. Zach Williams doubled twice, drove in one run, and scored three times as Ocean City cruised to a 9-2 win at Middle Township.

Holy Spirit downed host Oakcrest, 5-2, behind Joe DiBuonaventura's three hits and three RBIs.

Beach Classic. Darnell Maisonet struck out 14 in seven innings, and Winslow Township edged East Columbus (N.C.), 8-7, at the Touchstone Energy Beach Classic at West Brunswick High School in Shallotte, N.C.

Nick Kuriger, who went 2 for 4, came on to earn the save. Tyler Fletcher went 1 for 3 with two runs scored and an RBI, and Thomas McNeill was 2 for 4 with an RBI.

Nonleague. Chris Jones clubbed two home runs, and Bishop Eustace pounded out 15 hits to cruise to a 14-3 win at Lenape. Jones went 3 for 4, scored three runs, and knocked in two.

Nick Browne went 3 for 4 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Dan Marano had two hits, scored twice, and drove in a run. Devin Meltzer struck out 11 in five innings.

In other nonleague action:

Moorestown's Jared Gold allowed seven hits and struck out four to tame host Bordentown, 4-2.

Tyler Ronayne didn't allow an earned run in 31/3 innings, and Andrew Olesky picked up his first varsity save in Maple Shade's 9-3 win over visiting Palmyra. Mike Kaupp had a two-run single.

Monny Strickland went 3 for 3, homered, and knocked in three runs as host Egg Harbor Township topped Buena, 5-1.

Doane Academy swept a doubleheader from visiting Life Center by scores of 9-3 and 15-5. In the first game, Matt Czyzewski struck out seven and hit a first-inning triple. Trent Eastman led the way in Game 2. He went 3 for 4 with a double.

Lacrosse

Kingsway's Gabe Lombardi made 15 saves to blank visiting Holy Cross, 7-0, in a nonleague game. Billy Moran sparked the offense with three goals.

In other nonleague action:

Kyle Borbi netted six goals and Mike Githens added five as Shawnee won, 18-8, at Clearview.

St. Augustine, led by Charlie Kitchen's four goals, topped host Rumson-Fair Haven, 9-4.

Olympic American. Cherokee boasted nine scorers in its 12-2 win at Cherry Hill East. Jordan Krug, Trevor Osler, and Jesse Streb each found the net twice.
