S. Jersey Girls: Skelton lifts Holy Cross to a win

Coming off a junior campaign in which she averaged 11 points and eight rebounds per game, Holy Cross' Cassy Skelton hasn't missed a beat.

In addition to nine points, the senior had eight rebounds, two assists, and a pair of steals to pace the host Lancers to a 37-25 victory over Moorestown on Saturday in a Burlington County League basketball game.

Morgan Morocco and Mary Kiefner scored 10 points apiece. Morocco added six steals and five rebounds. MacKenzie Moran added eight points.

Caroline Muccifori led Moorestown with 11 points. Grace Hill scored eight points.

Holy Cross is the ninth-ranked team in South Jersey by The Inquirer.

Colonial. Tamia Robinson scored 10 points as host Lindenwold edged Camden, 35-34. Iasha Beeks and Shola Karimu Onissema had eight points and seven points, respectively. Both players also grabbed three rebounds apiece.

Cape-Atlantic. Destiny Esquilin had 23 points, seven rebounds, five steals, and three assists in Vineland's 57-30 victory at Buena. Nosaja Echevarria added 14 points.

South Jersey Invitational Tournament Scholarship Game. Jordan Harbaugh scored 17 points, including a pair of three-pointers, to lead 10th-ranked Clearview to a 33-27 victory at Haddon Township. She also notched four rebounds and four steals. Elaina Hansen had six rebounds to go along with her five points. Grace Marshall had 17 points and four rebounds for the host.

Ocean City PBA Tipoff Weekend. Fran Geromini led Holy Spirit to a second straight win to start the season with 13 points in a 49-30 victory over Atlantic County Tech at Ocean City.

Bridget Ruskey's 11 points and seven rebounds helped send Middle Township to a 38-34 win over Southern Regional. Jenna Herlihy added seven points.

Nonleague. JaKhira Legoskey (17 points), Anndrea Lloyd (15), Raquel Harris-Scott (14), and Alyssa Cavallaro (12) each provided double-digit scoring in Overbrook's 72-39 romp at Pennsauken Tech. Lloyd and Imani Peterson each had 10 rebounds.

Jordan Wallace led No. 4 Sterling with 18 points in a 59-28 win at Northern Burlington. L.N. Carter scored 17 points, including three three-pointers.

Deanna Pineiro scored nine of her 11 points in the first half as Audubon edged Pitman, 29-28, at home. Katie Dunn had eight points and eight rebounds. Brenna Lindner scored a game-high 17 points for Pitman.

Ashjahnelle Wilson scored 10 points in host Camden County Tech's 35-21 victory over Pennsville.

Friday

Azana Baines had 12 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists in Highland's 44-38 win at Gloucester. Devon Graf led with 17 points.
