Sat. Pa. boys and girls: Dahle sparks FCS rout

Emma Dahle scored a game-high seven goals Saturday afternoon and coach Lauren Rubin earned her 100th career win as Friends' Central steamrolled visiting Lawrenceville, 19-9, in nonleague girls' lacrosse.

Rubin is in her 10th year as head coach.

Dahle, a junior, has 90 goals this year. Ashley Tedesco added six goals.

In other nonleague action, Sabrina Tabasso scored four goals and assisted on two to lead host Harriton past Episcopal Academy, 9-7. Caleigh Foust added a pair of goals for the Rams.

Boys' Lacrosse

Bennett Zaba scored his 50th goal of the season and Ryan Kovacevich recorded his 40th as Holy Ghost Prep topped Springside Chestnut Hill, 10-7, in a nonleague game.

Zaba scored five goals and had two assists, increasing his goal total to 54. Kovacevich also had five goals, for a season total of 41.

In other nonleague action, Ray Vandegrift scored four times and Jay Vandegrift added three goals as host Penn Charter edged Downingtown West, 11-9.

Baseball

Winning pitcher Aaron Ross went 2 for 3, drove in three runs, and scored twice for Friends' Central, which rolled at Phelps, 15-3, in a nonleague game. Hayden Gruber had two doubles, walked twice, and drove in four runs.

Softball

Nikki Ray struck out four and allowed two hits in seven innings as Penn Charter dropped Friends' Central, 8-3.

Ray also had three RBIs for the Quakers.
