Tyere Marshall led Martin Luther King to victory Saturday afternoon. He finishing with 17 points and 11 rebounds in a 69-37 win over William Allen in the first round of the PIAA Class AAAA basketball tournament at Southern.

Ladji Fofana added 15 points, five assists, and five steals. Sammy Foreman and Jabri McCall each contributed 14 points.

Roman Catholic 68, Downingtown West 52 - Gemil Holbrook poured in 22 points to lead the Cahillites at St. Joseph's Prep. Tony Carr (14 points), D'Andre Vilmar (13), and Nazeer Bostick also provided double-digit scoring.

Plymouth Whitemarsh 71, Northeastern 46 - Xzavier Malone scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the win at Upper Dublin. Devon Monteiro-Grey had 17 points and 11 rebounds. Andre Mitchell and Jimmy Murray scored 17 points and 13 points, respectively.

Methacton 47, Whitehall 39 - Tom Dyer led the Warriors with 18 points at William Allen. Justin Ardman scored 11, and Sean Mann, and Chris McCarthy each had eight points.

Pennsbury 73, Cedar Cliff 53 - Cameron Jones poured in 28 points and Derrick Woods added 22 in the victory at Council Rock South. Mekhi Bryant contributed 19 points.

Pennridge 61, Reading 59 - Joe Molettiere and Zach Muredda each scored 18 points to lead the Rams at Wilson-West Lawn. Dan Long added 14 points.

PIAA Class AAA First Round

Derrick Jones paced Archbishop Carroll with 26 points and 12 rebounds in a 83-49 rout of Octorara at Council Rock South.

Josh Sharkey netted 16 points and dished out eight assists. Ryan Daly added 13 points and 11 rebounds.

PIAA Class AA First Round

Eli Alvin netted 18 points as Mastery North defeated Bristol, 77-54, at Upper Dublin.

Fred Farris added 17 points. Koby Thomas had 10 points and 10 rebounds.
