Great Valley's Ashlyn Smith nearly scored as many points in the final 16 seconds Tuesday as her team did in the entire first quarter.

Smith grabbed a late steal that led to a go-ahead layup and then converted two free throws as Great Valley rallied for a 44-40 victory over visiting Wilson-West Lawn in a nonleague girls' basketball game.

Stephanie Aker added eight points, eight rebounds and six steals for Great Valley, which trailed by 12-7 after one quarter.

In other nonleague action:

Hannah Fox had 27 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 assists as visiting Penn Charter knocked off Shipley, 58-53. Shipley is ranked No. 7 in Southeastern Pennsylvania by The Inquirer.

Sam Carangi had six steals and scored a game-high 13 points as No. 8 North Penn turned away visiting Downingtown West, 48-16.

Allison Chernow paired 12 points with six assists to lead No. 9 Upper Dublin to a 56-28 victory over visiting West Chester Rustin.

Eunice Jimenez (16 points, 4 assists, 4 steals, 4 rebounds) sank a late free throw to seal Westtown's 45-42 win at St. Andrew's.

Mikayla Vaughn piled up 28 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks as Friends' Central won, 57-38, at Springside Chestnut Hill.

Caitlyn Cunningham had 17 points, 5 assists, 5 steals, 5 rebounds in Mount St. Joseph's 64-35 win at St. Hubert.

Lily Kuntz   scored 10 of her 12 points in the second half as host Episcopal Academy pulled away for a 40-24 win against Archbishop Carroll.

Casey Walsh had nine points, nine rebounds, four assists and three steals to lead Notre Dame to a 49-27 victory at Villa Maria. Mandy McGurk had five steals.

Bicentennial. Sarah Wilson had 10 points, six rebounds and five assists to lead Lower Moreland to a 37-21 victory over visiting New Hope-Solebury.

Catholic Academies. Erica DeCandido scored 22 points and No. 6 Gwynedd Mercy cruised to a 63-38 win at Villa Joseph Marie.

Lanae Hunsberger scored 13 points in the third quarter as visiting Christopher Dock surged past Delco Christian, 52-37.

Central. Maddie Ireland had 18 points and three steals in Garnet Valley's 54-34 win over visiting Marple Newtown. Nicole Barnes had eight steals.

Allison Lanzone had 11 points, eight rebounds and four steals as Radnor upended Upper Darby, 55-26, at home.

Pioneer. KT Armstrong scored 10 points to lead host Perkiomen Valley to a 39-32 win over No. 5 Boyertown.
