Merion Mercy defeated Bonner Prendergast, 4-0, in field hockey's PIAA Class 2A quarterfinals at Haverford High. Jame Natale scored two goals and Margo Carlin scored a goal and had an assist. Caroline Stellar rounded out the scoring.

Shannon Bedrossian made three saves for the shutout. Merion Mercy advanced to the semifinals. The last time Merion Mercy made it this far in states was in 2008, when it finished second.


Malvern Prep defeated Springside Chestnut Hill, 48-28, in an Inter-Ac game.

Malvern Prep's Zac Fernandez played only the first half, but he had 16 carries for 136 yards and three touchdowns, one of them on a 50-yard pass from Drew Gunther.

Boys' Soccer

Haverford School defeated visiting Episcopal Academy, 2-1, in Inter-Ac play. Nik Golz scored for the Fords on an assist from Griffin Wada and Carnel Walker scored on a Nick Pippis assist. Haverford School's Will Baltrus made six saves for the win.
