Fellow Malaysian Low Wee Wern lost in the other semifinal to England's Laura Massaro, 11-6, 9-11, 11-6, 9-11, 11-7.

In men's action, France's Gregory Gaultier defeated Egypt's Karim Darwish, while Nick Matthew bested James Willstrop in an all-England semifinal.
