Reading Fightin Phils pitcher and Phillies prospect Jesse Biddle was named the Eastern League pitcher of the week for the period of April 22-28.

Biddle was solid in his two starts during the week.

In his first outing against the Harriburg Senators, Biddle retired the first 19 hitters he faced before allowing a walk and a single to consecutive batters in a 3-2 victory Monday. Biddle struck out 16, allowed two walks and a hit over seven innings to record the win.

In his second outing, Biddle limited the New Hampshire Fisher Cats to one hit over six innings. Biddle struck out 10 hitters and walked three in a 2-1 win Sunday. Biddle received a no decision.

For the week, Biddle pitched 13 shutout innings, allowed two hits, struck out 26 hitters, walked five in two starts.
