Previewing the NBA Play-In Tournament for Caesars customers

Odds are accurate as of time of publish and are subject to change.

The NBA Play-In Tournament hasn’t been around for too many seasons, but it’s proven already to be a fantastic addition. These games have playoff atmospheres, and Tuesday’s games will feature win-and-in scenarios, as the winner of each game solidifies themselves as the No. 7 seed in the playoff field.

Tipping things off are the Hawks and Heat at 7:30 p.m. ET. Caesars has the Heat as the favorites at -205 over the Hawks (+170). I like Miami to win this one in a game that doesn’t achieve the 228 point prop total. Miami is more than capable of winning and covering the five point spread.

The Hawks have been the epitome of .500% this season, finishing 41-41 and with a conference record of 26-26. Meanwhile, Miami went 44-38 and 27-14 at home. That said, this was a disappointing season for Miami, who were one missed three pointer away from the NBA Finals last year.

In the second game, the Timberwolves take on LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and the Lakers. Los Angeles are 8.5 point favorites priced at -385 to win. Minnesota are big underdogs at +300 in a game with a high 233 point prop total.

No team was a bigger disappointment through the first half of the year than the Lakers, but loads of trades at the deadline helped get them here. Meanwhile, Minnesota’s talented but have had chemistry and health issues all year. I don’t see the Lakers losing with James healthy again, but 8.5 points could be a hard spread to cover for the king’s squad.
