Montco police seek dye-stained bank robber

Cheltenham Township Police are looking for a man who robbed a bank on South Easton Road on Sunday. The suspect entered the the Citizens Bank at Cedarbrook Plaza at 12:51 p.m. Sunday and gave a teller a note that implied he had a weapon and demanded money. Money - and a pack of dye - were put in a white bag and given to the suspect. After he left the bank, the dye pack exploded, and the suspect dropped the bag and ran north through the plaza.

Cheltenham Township Police are looking for a man who robbed a bank on South Easton Road on Sunday.

The suspect entered the the Citizens Bank at Cedarbrook Plaza at 12:51 p.m. Sunday and gave a teller a note that implied he had a weapon and demanded money. Money - and a pack of dye - were put in a white bag and given to the suspect. After he left the bank, the dye pack exploded, and the suspect dropped the bag and ran north through the plaza.

He is described as a black male with a beard, 18-to-24 years old, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9 and weighing 160 pounds. He had tattoos on his left arm and a glove and elastic bandage, which he just had purchased nearby, on his right arm and hand.

The suspect last was seen with headphones around his neck, wearing a white hat he also had just bought at a nearby sporting goods store, along with a pair of sneakers, a black T-shirt, and light-colored shorts.
