Police, Montco DA probe Pottstown slaying
A 20-year-old man was found shot to death Thursday night in Pottstown, authorities said Friday. The Pottstown Borough Police Department went to the 400 block of Jefferson Avenue at 9:52 p.m. Thursday after receiving a report of a suspicious vehicle. When officers arrived, they found the body of the victim inside.

The Pottstown Borough Police Department went to the 400 block of Jefferson Avenue at 9:52 p.m. Thursday after receiving a report of a suspicious vehicle. When officers arrived, they found the body of the victim inside.
The man was identified as Steven Mitchell, of Pottstown, Montgomery County Coroner Walter I. Hofman said. An autopsy performed Friday morning by Hofman's office determined that Mitchell died from a single gunshot wound that damaged his pelvis, bowel, and major arteries.
