Radnor appoints new school superintendent
The Radnor Township School Board has appointed Michael J. Kelly, assistant superintendent for the Lower Merion School District, and he will assume his new job in the Delaware County district on Aug. 26.
Kelly has been with the Lower Merion, Montgomery County, district since 1999 and has worked as a special education teacher, supervisor and director of pupil services. Prior to becoming a teacher he worked with physically and cognitively challenged people in a variety of day and residential settings.
Kelly earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from West Chester University, a law degree from Widener University and a doctorate in educational leadership from Immaculata University. He is an adjunct professor at Penn State Great Valley and Immaculata.
Radnor's previous superintendent, Linda E. Grobman, announced in October she was leaving the district after four years to take a job in the private sector.
The school board made the appointment Tuesday night.
