MOUNT HOLLY Authorities in Burlington County have begun carrying Narcan, an antidote used to revive individuals from heroin overdoses, the prosecutor's office said Wednesday.

The county spent $6,500 in drug forfeiture money to buy 209 Narcan kits. The sheriff's office and about 30 police departments in the county received them.

Other police departments in the state, including those in Camden County, are also using Narcan. A pilot program for it started in Ocean County and was expanded earlier this year by Gov. Christie.
