by Ariel Simpson

As we count down the days to Super Bowl LIX, we’ll also be counting down the 25 best Eagles players to ever play in a Super Bowl based on their performances in the big game. Therefore, only members of the 1980, 2004, 2017, and 2022 teams are eligible — and players like Saquon Barkley will have to wait. Here are Nos. 25-21 …

25. Charlie Johnson, defensive tackle

Johnson (left) played nine seasons in the NFL, five of them with the Eagles. The three-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro defensive tackle helped lead the Birds to Super Bowl XV in 1981, and recorded one sack.

24. Brandon Brooks, guard

Brooks (right) spent six seasons with the Eagles, and was part of their memorable run in 2017. Brooks earned his first Pro Bowl nod that season and went on to provide strong interior blocking in the Birds’ only Super Bowl win.
