Nowak hired as first head coach of Philadelphia Union
Peter Nowak, a former assistant coach for the U.S. Men's National Soccer Team, has been named the first coach of the MLS Philadelphia Union. Nowak will also be actively involved in all personnel decisions according to a team official.

He will be introduced during a Friday afternoon press conference.
Besides being an assistant for the National Team, he was also the head coach of the Under-23 National team.
A former captain of the Polish national team, Nowak who will be 45 in July, won MLS titles as a player with the Chicago Fire in 1998 and with DC United as a coach in 2004.
The Union will begin play next year in the 18,500-seat waterfront stadium in Chester.
