Kelly Oubre Jr. has been Mr. Consistency for the 76ers. Jeff Dowtin Jr. appears to have leapfrogged Jared Butler on the Sixers' point guard depth chart. And the team displayed a lot of balance against the Golden State Warriors. Those three things stood out in Saturday night’s 126-119 victory at the Wells Fargo Center.

Oubre finished with 20 points while making 3 of 6 three-pointers against the Warriors. The swingman extended his streak of double-digit performances to 10 games. Oubre is averaging 16.8 points on 51.8 % shooting during that stretch.

While that’s impressive, Oubre was more excited about guarding Stephen Curry. “My legs are cooked right now from chasing him all game,” he said. “But I love this game, and I love playing against the best. So being able to guard one of the greatest shooters of all time and keeping him under 30 points, that’s a win for me."

Dowtin gets the nod

It’s no secret that coach Nick Nurse is a fan of Dowtin. He was a two-way point guard for the Toronto Raptors when Nurse coached that team. And Dowtin followed Nurse to Philadelphia last season after he became the Sixers head coach.

On Saturday, Dowtin was in the rotation instead of Butler as reserve point guard. And he didn’t disappoint, finishing with five points on 2-for-3 shooting to go with three assists in 13 minutes, 49 seconds. Dowtin was also a plus-12. Butler received his second straight Did Not Play Coach’s Decision and third in four games.

The Sixers had five double-figure scorers against the Warriors (32-28). Shooting guard Quentin Grimes received a lot of praise for scoring a career-high 44 points. Oubre was the Sixers’ second-leading scorer.

But reserve post player Guerschon Yabusele (18), forward Paul George (17) and center Andre Drummond (10 points, a game-high 14 rebounds) also contributed on a night the Sixers shot 52.9% from the field.
