Rowing: Men's single sculls finals

Two Penn rowers will compete in the single sculls rowing finals, Bermuda’s Dara Alizadeh and Slovenia’s Isak Zvegelj (pictured), at 3:54 a.m. Philadelphia time.

Track and field: Men's shot put

Penn State grad Joe Kovacs, of Bethlehem, Pa., competes in the qualifying round of the shot put. This is his third Olympics after he won silver medals in the shot put in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro and in 2021 in Tokyo.

Men's soccer quarterfinal: USA vs. Morocco

Medford’s Paxton Aaronson and the Union’s Nathan Harriel and Jack McGlynn (pictured) advanced with Team USA out of the group stage into the quarterfinal for the first time since 2000. They'll face Morocco at 9 a.m.

Track and field: Women’s 800-meter qualifying

Penn alum Nia Akins (right) and Strath Haven's Allie Wilson (left) finished first and second, respectively, in the 800 meters at the Olympic trials. At 2 p.m. Friday, they'll compete in qualifying races.

Men's volleyball: USA vs. Japan

Penn State’s Max Holt (pictured), Aaron Russell, and Matt Anderson compete in their final group stage game against Japan at 3 p.m. The U.S. is undefeated in group play, and a win would clinch a berth in the next round.
