Swimming: Men's 50-meter freestyle

Drexel Hill native Shane Ryan competes for Ireland in the men's 50-meter freestyle qualifiers at 5:32 a.m. The Penn State alum is competing in his second Olympics after qualifying in 2016 for the Rio Games.

Fencing: Women's foil team competition

Philly native Maia Weintraub (pictured) competes for Team USA and Penn's Malak Hazma competes for Egypt at 5:50 a.m. Team USA placed fourth in Tokyo and is looking to win their first medal in the event since winning silver in 2008.

Tennis: Men's singles (and doubles)

Voorhees Township’s Tommy Paul faces Spain's Carlos Alcaraz (pictured), who won the French Open on the same court at Roland Garros in June, in a men's singles quarterfinal. Paul will also play in a men's doubles quarterfinal on Thursday.

Women's field hockey: USA vs. Great Britain

Team USA has two games left in the group stage, against the two weakest remaining teams in Group B. But they are currently in fifth, and only the top four teams advance. A win against Great Britain (at 11 a.m.) would go a long way.

Women’s basketball: USA vs. Belgium

Kahleah Copper and Team USA take on Belgium at 3 p.m. in their second game of the group stage after an opening win vs. Japan.
