Catholic League football will have a new look for 2008.

The league's athletic directors yesterday voted unanimously to switch from two to three divisions.

As the league begins competing in the PIAA, the regular season must be completed in 9 weeks. If the two-division setup had remained, said Brian Fluck, West Catholic's coach and the president of the coaches' association, no team at the Class AAA and AA levels would have been able to play preseason games.

Four teams in each grouping will make the playoffs, and play for classification titles in the league and then against Public League representatives.

The new setup:

Blue AA: Carroll, Dougherty, McDevitt, West, Kennedy-Kenrick.

Blue AAA: Wood, Neumann-Goretti, Conwell-Egan, Lansdale Catholic, North.

Red (all AAAA): Judge, La Salle, Roman, SJ Prep, Ryan, Bonner, O'Hara.

Lansdale Catholic will be a new member. *
