Minor Leagues: Riversharks beat Bluefish, 9-0

BRIDGEPORT, Conn - Camden's Sam Narron is pitching like an ace.

The 28-year-old lefthander threw his second straight shutout Sunday, yielding seven hits in a 9-0 road win over the Bridgeport Bluefish in the Atlantic League.

All told, he has thrown 20 consecutive shutout innings.

Narron was bolstered by 16 hits, including a home run by leftfielder Jason Botts to lead off the third. Botts had three hits and scored three runs.

Camden third baseman Brian Burgamy had four hits on the afternoon.

Lakewood 4, Delmarva 3

DELMARVA, Md. - The BlueClaws scored two runs in the eighth inning to overtake Delmarva in a South Atlantic League.

Jonathan Villar and Leandro Castro hit consecutive doubles off the Shorebirds' Nick Haughian, followed by a single by Jonathan Singleton.

With two innings of scoreless work, Luke Wertz got the win for Lakewood.

Jordan Ellis then came on to record the save.

Altoona 5, Reading 2

ALTOONA, Pa. - Consecutive homers in the sixth inning by Hector Gimenez and Alex Presley off B.J. Rosenberg allowed the Curve to overtake the Phillies in an Eastern League game.

The Phillies had taken a 2-0 lead in the first on a two-run blast by Domonic Brown, his ninth homer of the season.

Altoona was held scoreless by Reading starter Drew Naylor until Chase d'Arnaud scored on a Matt Hague grounder in the sixth. After Naylor walked Jordy Mercer on four pitches, he was pulled in favor of Rosenberg.
