Burish takes it to Pronger
When the 2010-11 NHL schedule is released later this month, it would be understandable if defenseman Chris Pronger circled the date that his Flyers play Chicago.
When the 2010-11 NHL schedule is released later this month, it would be understandable if defenseman Chris Pronger circled the date that his Flyers play Chicago.
First, the Chicago Tribune called him "Chrissy" and showed him wearing a figure-skating outfit in a doctored photo earlier this week.
And then little-used Chicago forward Adam Burish blasted the defenseman in a TV interview after the Blackhawks' Stanley-Cup-clinching 4-3 overtime win on Wednesday at the Wachovia Center.
"I think Chris Pronger's the biggest idiot in the league," Burish said. "I can't stand him one bit. I hope I never have to see him again. If I see him out there, I might punch him."
Asked about the Tribune's poster of Pronger, Burish said, "That's perfect. He should have worn that out here [on the ice]. He was terrible."
Pronger had four assists and was plus-three in the Finals; Burish played only three games - he was a healthy scratch in three games - and had zero points and was plus-1.
