With Poythress courtside two days after sustaining a season-ending knee injury, the Wildcats (11-0) combined depth, length, and strong shooting to post a convincing win over the 6-3 Tar Heels.
Trey Lyles had nine points starting in Poythress' place.
Brice Johnson scored 15 points for the Tar Heels, who won the rebounding battle, 31-24, but found little success against the Wildcats' size.
Booker returned from a one-game absence to make all three long-range attempts and 5 of 8 overall on a day that Kentucky shot 57 percent from the field.
Arizona 80, Michigan 53 - Stanley Johnson scored 17 points, and the No. 3 Wildcats (10-0) crushed the visiting Wolverines (6-4). Arizona dominated inside, outscoring Michigan by 42-16 in the paint and grabbing 14 more rebounds.

Ohio State 87, Morehead State 71 - D'Angelo Russell and Sam Thompson each scored 15 points, leading the No. 12 Buckeyes (8-1) over the 4-8 Eagles in Columbus, Ohio.
The victory came in Thad Matta's 500th game as a head coach. Matta is in his 15th season as a head coach, including a year at his alma mater, Butler, and three at Xavier. His record is 385-115 for a .770 winning percentage.
Maryland 67, South Carolina-Upstate 57 - Freshman Melo Trimble earned his first double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, and the No. 19 Terrapins (10-1) pulled away for the win over the 8-3 Spartans in College Park, Md.
Gwynedd Mercy 90, Wilkes 78 - Sophomore Arron Goodman (Council Rock North) scored 24 points to help the Griffins (7-3) outgun the Colonels (6-3) in Wilkes-Barre and capture the First National Community Bank/Monarch Classic.
Rowan 74, Mount St. Mary (N.Y.) 51 - Forward Ike Robinson (Conwell-Egan) scored 17 points off the bench to lead the 8-1 Profs over the 1-7 Knights in Glassboro.
