Aleksander Barkov scored the lone goal in the shootout, and the host Florida Panthers edged the Pittsburgh Penguins, 4-3, on Monday night.

Barkov skated in on Marc-Andre Fleury in the seventh round of the tiebreaker, moved left, and lifted in a one-handed shot to win it.

Florida's Roberto Luongo made a sprawling glove save on Chris Kunitz in the fourth round.

Capitals 2, Senators 1 - Braden Holtby made 38 saves, Jay Beagle and Nicklas Backstrom scored second-period goals, and host Washington extended its point streak to nine games with a win over Ottawa. Washington has won three in a row and is 7-0-2 in its last nine games. Holtby has been in net for all of them.

Predators 5, Blue Jackets 1 - Craig Smith scored two goals, Pekka Rinne made 30 saves to earn his NHL-leading 22d win, and visiting Nashville routed Columbus.

More mumps

The Penguins' mumps scare isn't over yet. Center Brandon Sutter, winger Steve Downie and goalie Thomas Greiss returned to Pittsburgh to be tested.

Rangers right winger Lee Stempniak tested positive for mumps. The third Ranger to come down with the disease has been isolated since Thursday.
