Dad Vail will honor Va. Tech victim

A moment of silence will be held at the Dad Vail Regatta for Kevin Granata, a Virginia Tech professor who was killed in the April 16 shootings.

Granata won a bronze medal for Purdue in the junior varsity eight event in 1986.

Granata, 45, was a professor of engineering science and mechanics at Virginia Tech, where he researched muscle and reflex response and robotics. *
