Key acquisitions: The Barrage obtained midfielder Andy Corno from the New Jersey Pride for future draft picks. Corno led the league with 101 ground balls last season. He is also one of the top players when it comes to face-offs, winning 168 of 311 last season.

Key losses: The Barrage sent midfielder Greg Peyser to the Pride. Peyser was a first-round pick in 2006, playing in eight games.

Best off-season move: The Barrage re-signed Matt Striebel for a seventh season. The midfielder tied for third on the team for most points with 35 last season.

The rivalry: The Barrage defeated the Cannons in the semifinals last season en route to the championship, after the Cannons won the two regular-season meetings. The Barrage also beat Boston in 2004 in the championship game.
