WASHINGTON - Jeff Schultz scored 53 seconds into the second period, lifting the Washington Capitals to a 3-2 victory over New Jersey last night and snapping the Devils' point streak at 10 games.
The Devils lost for the second consecutive night after winning nine straight. They earned one point Sunday during a 1-0 overtime defeat in New York against the Rangers. New Jersey hadn't lost in regulation since another 1-0 defeat, Nov. 16 to the New York Islanders.
Schultz has only three goals in 23 games but netted two in two contests. He found the net Saturday during Washington's 6-3 win over Atlanta.

DALLAS - Brenden Morrow's power-play goal in overtime lifted Dallas over Edmonton.
Morrow scored his 10th of the season on Sergei Zubov's redirected pass with a minute left in the overtime period while the Stars skated four-on-three.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Chris Pronger scored a power-play goal with 1 minute, 45 seconds left in overtime to give Anaheim a win over Columbus.
The 14-year veteran blasted a point shot that deflected off the skate of Columbus defenseman Adam Foote and past a surprised Pascal Leclaire, who finished with 24 saves.

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Alex Auld made 44 saves, and Marc Savard had a goal and assist to lift Boston over Buffalo.
Auld was spectacular in his second straight win for the Bruins after being acquired from Phoenix on Thursday.

TORONTO - Jason Blake started a four-goal spurt in the second period, Chad Kilger scored twice, and Toronto routed Tampa Bay.
Matt Stajan, Nik Antropov and captain Mats Sundin also scored for the Leafs, who will play their next seven games on the road.
