Minor Leagues: IronPigs gain a split with Bisons

BUFFALO - Mike Cervenak's two-run homer in the first inning jump-started the Lehigh Valley IronPigs to a 9-1 win over the Buffalo Bisons in the second game of an International League doubleheader last night.

Bronson Sardinha's two-run shot led the Bisons to a 3-2 win in the opener. Former Villanova star Brian Slocum gave up only two hits in 42/3 innings for Buffalo but did not get the victory.

Lehigh Valley's Steve Green (2-0) struck out five in a three-inning relief stint in the second game.

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - Michael Durant's two-run homer, his 10th home run of the season, led the BlueClaws past the Power in the South Atlantic League.

Long Island 8, Camden 2

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. - P.J. Rose was 2 for 4 with two RBIs as the Ducks ended the Riversharks' five-game winning streak in the Atlantic League.
