Reds RHP Aaron Harang (2-7, 3.81) vs. Phillies RHP Adam Eaton (1-3, 4.99)

Reds update: Ken Griffey Jr. did not play last night because of "general soreness." He is one shy of 600 career home runs. Griffey is 7-for-14 in his career against Adam Eaton, with two home runs and five RBI ... Despite his record, Harang is averaging 7.44 strikeouts per nine innings and has an ERA of 3.81. Only two starters - Matt Chico and John Lannan, both of the Nationals - have received less run support than Harang's 3.09 runs per game ... The Phillies faced Harang on April 5 and managed just two runs and six hits in seven innings of a 4-3 loss ... The Reds entered this series just 9-19 on the road. Dating back to 2006, the Reds have a losing record in 19 of their last 20 road trips.

Phillies update: Eaton earned his first win of the season last week, allowing just one run on four hits in a win over the Rockies. It was the first time in four starts the Phillies had won a game started by the righthander. Overall, the Phillies are 5-6 when Eaton pitches ... Pedro Feliz is just 2-for-18 lifetime off Harang. Jimmy Rollins (5-for-20) and Geoff Jenkins (10-for-41) are also batting below their career averages against him ... Chase Utley went 2-for-3 with a run and and RBI off Harang in April and is 5-for-11 against him in his career ... Eaton allowed three runs on six hits in 7 2/3 innings, his longest outing of the season, in a 4-3 loss to the Reds on April 5.
