NEW YORK - Here's an update on Brett's comeback:

No, not Favre. Myers.

According to a baseball source, Brett Myers' next minor-league start will be Friday night in Florida for single-A Clearwater at Brevard County. The plan is to have Myers join the Phillies the next day in nearby Miami and return to the starting rotation July 23 against the New York Mets at Shea Stadium.

The Phillies optioned Myers to triple-A Lehigh Valley last month after he went 3-9 with a 5.84 ERA in 17 starts. He has made two starts for the IronPigs and one start for double-A Reading as the Phillies try to turn around Myers' season and upgrade a rotation that needs a boost.

Another source said the Phillies were taking a look at Oakland righthander Joe Blanton, who is 5-12 with a 4.96 ERA in 20 starts after he went 42-34 with a 4.09 ERA in his previous three seasons with the A's.
