Game 5 of the World Series between the Phillies and the Tampa Bay Rays was suspended tonight after 5 1/2 innings because of continued heavy rain that turned the field at Citizens Bank Park into a dangerous mess.

The earliest the game will be resumed is 8 p.m. tomorrow, and fans should use the same tickets they used tonight.

The Rays got a two-out RBI single from Carlos Pena off Phillies starter Cole Hamels to tie the game at 2-2 in the top of the sixth. After Evan Longoria lined to centerfielder Shane Victorino, the umpires ordered the grounds crew to put the tarp on the field at 10:40 p.m. The game was officially suspended about a half-hour later.
