Sixers convert 7-foot-6 center Tacko Fall to a two-way contract
Fall, at 7-foot-6, gives the Sixers needed traditional size after reserve center Ariel Hukporti tore his Achilles in the team's preseason opener.

The 76ers will convert center Tacko Fall to a two-way contract, the team announced Saturday morning.
Fall, at 7-foot-6, gives the Sixers needed traditional size after reserve center Ariel Hukporti tore his Achilles in the team’s preseason opener earlier this month. Fall, who was on an Exhibit 10 deal, did not play during the preseason because of a hip strain sustained during a training camp practice.

Fall has played in 37 career NBA games with the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers, but none since the 2021-22 season. Since then, the 30-year-old has played overseas in China and New Zealand.
The Sixers’ other center options behind former NBA MVP Joel Embiid mostly are of the small-ball variety and include Adem Bona, Dominick Barlow, Jabari Walker, Dean Wade, and LeBron James. Bona (foot) and Barlow (back) also did not play during the preseason.
Guard Caleb Love and wing Rayan Rupert are the Sixers’ other two-way players. Their contracts allow them to split time between the Sixers and their G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats.
Also Saturday, the Sixers waived Cris Carroll, Taye Fields, Dillon Jones, and Jameer Nelson Jr. (the son of Sixers executive vice president of basketball operations), a source confirmed.
