WILKES-BARRE - Claude Giroux scored twice and Scott Munroe made 28 saves to lead the Phantoms to a 4-1 win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the AHL last night.

The win was the third straight in as many nights for both Munroe and the Phantoms.

The Penguins struck on the power play 6 minutes, 46 seconds into the game as Connor James beat Munroe with a wrister for the 1-0 lead.

But it was all Phantoms from then on: Giroux scored midway throught the first period, and Jeff Szwez gave the Phantoms the lead for good early in the second.

The Phantoms tacked on an insurance goal late in the third when Patrick Maroon fired a shot from the left boards that found its way through David Brown's pads. (Maroon had a hat trick Saturday night.)

Giroux picked up his second goal on an empty-netter late in the game.

The three wins boosted the Phantoms' record to 15-11-0-0 for 30 points, leaving them in third place in the AHL's East Division.
