Yesterday's win improved the Eagles' record to 7-5-1 and kept their playoff hopes alive. But they still have to win out to have any chance of making it to the postseason.
-- Westbrook is getting hot at the right time.
The Eagles' running back notched his second straight 100-yard rushing performance and has scored six TDs in the last two games. His 39 touches against the Giants were a career-high.
-- What's with the blocks?
Prior to this season, David Akers had had just one field-goal attempt blocked in his career. This year he has three, including two yesterday.
-- Stopping the Giants' ground game.
The Eagles, who gave up 219 rushing yards to the Giants in a five-point loss a month ago, held them to 88 yards on 24 carries yesterday. MLB Stewart Bradley and SS Quintin Mikell each had a team-high nine tackles. In the Eagles' last four games, they've held opponents to 2.7 yards per carry.

Tight end L.J. Smith had his best game of the season. He blocked pretty well in t he run game and had a season-high six catches for 44 yards, including a big 10-yarder on third-and-9 in the second quarter in which he slipped a tackle by safety Kenny Phillips. Two plays later, Brian Westbrook scored on a 30-yard run to give the Eagles a 10-0 lead.
