What we're talking about after the Eagles' win over the Giants:

- Too little too late?

Yesterday's win improved the Eagles' record to 7-5-1 and kept their playoff hopes alive. But they still have to win out to have any chance of making it to the postseason.

-- Westbrook is getting hot at the right time.

The Eagles' running back notched his second straight 100-yard rushing performance and has scored six TDs in the last two games. His 39 touches against the Giants were a career-high.

-- What's with the blocks?

Prior to this season, David Akers had had just one field-goal attempt blocked in his career. This year he has three, including two yesterday.

-- Stopping the Giants' ground game.

The Eagles, who gave up 219 rushing yards to the Giants in a five-point loss a month ago, held them to 88 yards on 24 carries yesterday. MLB Stewart Bradley and SS Quintin Mikell each had a team-high nine tackles. In the Eagles' last four games, they've held opponents to 2.7 yards per carry.

-- An L.J. spotting.

Tight end L.J. Smith had his best game of the season. He blocked pretty well in t he run game and had a season-high six catches for 44 yards, including a big 10-yarder on third-and-9 in the second quarter in which he slipped a tackle by safety Kenny Phillips. Two plays later, Brian Westbrook scored on a 30-yard run to give the Eagles a 10-0 lead.
