Nationals update: They hoped C Jesus Flores (sore right shoulder) would be ready to be activated from the DL last night, but he had a setback in his rehabilitation, according to acting GM Mike Rizzo and will be re-evaluated ... The Nationals promoted RHP Mike MacDougal, 32, from Triple A Syracuse yesterday. Since signing a minor league deal on May 3, he has two saves in eight relief appearances for the Chiefs and had the option to become a free agent if not added to the active big-league roster ... To make room, C Luke Montz was optioned to Double A Harrisburg.

Phillies update: Manager Charlie Manuel said before the game that he wished RHP Brett Myers had told him earlier that his hip was bothering him. "I would not send anybody out there hurt," he said ... In his last seven starts against the Nationals, Hamels is 3-1 with an 0.39 earned run average and a .183 opponent's batting average ... The last time he started against Washington, April 28, his outing was cut short when he sprained his left ankle in the fifth while trying to field a bunt ... In four subsequent starts, he's 2-0, 2.88 ... Nationals LHP John Lannan (2-4, 4.11) will face LHP Jamie Moyer (3-5, 7.42) tomorrow.
