Nelson is back

Jameer Nelson, Orlando's all-star point guard, was activated before Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Lakers in Los Angeles and went in at the start of the second quarter last night. The former St. Joseph's star from Chester had been sidelined since February after undergoing surgery on his right shoulder.

Nelson averaged 27.5 points in Orlando's two regular-season wins over the Lakers.

James fined $25,000

NBA commissioner David Stern said Cleveland's LeBron James has been fined $25,000 for skipping the postgame news conference after Sunday's loss to Orlando.

Wade files suit

Heat star Dwyane Wade has sued Richard von Houtman, a former business partner, for $100 million, claiming the man maligned his reputation by making false allegations of illegal drug and steroid use in an e-mail to Miami Heat president Pat Riley.
